WINE AUCTIONS

Run by specialist Vincent Etter, the auction department specialising in wines and spirits puts the spotlight on rare bottles, grand cru wines and exceptional champagnes.

Our auctions include light and powerful red wines, dry and sweet white wines, sauternes, rosés and champagnes, as well as spirits such as liquors, whisky, rum, cognac, armagnac and many others. Our teams also offer different varieties of cigars.

 

 

 

Wine and Spirits Department

 

Aymeric de Clouet and Mayeul de la Hamayde arepassionate about the luxury of wine and spirits at auction . At MILLON Riviera, Carla Bouic is head of the department.

Lovers of rare bottles and sparkling wines come together for the auctions organised by our specialist department. The wines and spirits are carefully appraised before being sent to the most appropriate sales channel, and no bottle is overlooked, enabling a wide audience to buy at our sales.

The department is equipped with a powerful new tool: the online sales site Purple Auctions, which presents lots without interruption. This new tool enables the department to offer bottles for sale very quickly, which are then sold just as quickly and delivered anywhere in the world.

You'll find the best vintages and appellations alongside rums, whiskies, chartreuses, cognacs and armagnacs.

 

Calendar of sales dedicated to wines, spirits and cigars

 

The Wines & Spirits department organises " Grands Vins & Spiritueux " sales based around major cellars or collections. These sales take place in the auction room, in the presence of an auctioneer. A catalogue presents a wide range of vintages of French and foreign wines, both old and new. Pétrus, Haut-Brion, Latour, Lafite-Rothschild, Yquem, Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, Nuits Saint Georges or Romanée Conti... names to dream about.

The Purple Auctions website, created in 2023, offers a continuous stream of bottles of wine and spirits to suit all budgets. As soon as the bottle arrives at our premises, it is listed, catalogued, photographed and presented in our online auction, which is accessible 24 hours a day.

This new way of working allows us to reduce the time it takes to put a bottle up for sale and to reach a wide audience of collectors and connoisseurs.

Millon is proud to be able to present bottles from some of the greatest European and international collections each year and to have a large customer base.

The sales of great wines and spirits boast excellent results:

 

• 12 bottles of CHÂTEAU LAFITE-ROTHSCHILD, 1° cru Pauillac 1982: 27,000 euros.
• 6 bottles PETRUS, Pomerol 2000, sale on 17 February 2014: 14,000 euros.
• 6 bottles PETRUS, Pomerol 1989, sale on 11 April 2012: 11,800 euros.
