IF YOU ARE PRESENT IN THE AUCTION ROOM, THE RULES ARE SIMPLE:
No priorregistration is necessary*, all you have to do is raise your hand and then make a clear sign or gesture to the auctioneer to indicate your intention (except, exceptionally, for certain lots subject to a prior deposit. This information will be specified in the lot description and sale information).
If someone else bids after you, it is up to you whether or not to continue your bid by bidding higher.
If no one bids higher than your bid, the auctioneer declares the long-awaited lot "awarded".
If you are registered with the clerk of the minutes, all you have to do is show your plate number or "Paddle".
If not, the "crieur" will come to you immediately to ask for identification and a means of payment.
From then on, the auctioneer's clerk will be waiting for you to register payment for your lots.
A deposit may be required to bid on a particular work or works. In this case, this information will be specified in the description of the work or in the sale information.
HOW CAN I BID WITHOUT BEING PRESENT IN THE AUCTION ROOM?
1. Bidding LIVE
All our "physical" auctions are broadcast live on the internet. To do this, you need to register on one of our partner platforms which will broadcast the sale. A link will direct you to drouot.com or Interenchereslive
In the same way as in person, you will first need to provide this platform with your ID and bank details
Once you have registered on one of these sites, the auction manager will validate your participation.
On the day of the sale, at the time indicated, connect to this partner platform and you will see the auctioneer in action on your screen, as well as photos of the items as they are presented.
On our side of the room, an operator will relay your bid aloud.
These different live auction platforms will charge you a commission for this service (the amount is specified on their websites)
2. Bidding by telephone
You don't have Internet access? Send your ID and bank details to the auction manager so that you can bid by telephone.
Simply register during the exhibition or send a written request to the auction manager.
Once your request has been approved, a member of the auction house staff will telephone you a few minutes before the item you wish to bid on comes up for auction.
3. Leaving a purchase order
If you are not available, the auction manager can record your fixed bid with a maximum amount.
This is a paper purchase order, filled in during the exhibition or sent by email to the department responsible for the sale.
The purchase order request can be made directly on this site after creating your member account, or
A confirmation of receipt and registration by email will then be sent to you by the sales manager.
