AUCTIONS NUMISMATICS, COINS, BANKNOTES
Specialising in numismatics, our team brings to the fore the witnesses of time: coins. Collected, worn as jewellery, hidden away like a treasure to be preserved, coins are the source of many happy surprises.
For over 30 years within the group and now in Nice, numismatic auctions have been held at the Hôtel des Ventes at 51 rue Beaumont. Carla Bouic, head of the department, is supported by Anthony Camos, a specialist expert and member of CECOA.
A numismatist at the service of dedicated auctions
Throughout the year, the department travels around France to meet you and make new discoveries: each coin tells a story and all it takes is one detail to reveal its rarity, and therefore its value.
The study of coins, medals and tokens is very precise. You may find yourself lost between francs, aurei, ecus, deniers, tetradrachms, dinars or dozens. Our expert will decipher the coins and their secrets for you.
All the coins you entrust to us as part of an inventory or during a valuation day will be analysed and authenticated before being presented at a quarterly auction. All your collections from our various offices in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Spain will be auctioned in Nice.
Numismatics department auction calendar
Whatever your budget, our auctions offer a wide selection of carefully selected and appraised coins and banknotes. Come and browse through our catalogues and find the coin that's right for you: ancient, royal and foreign coins from all periods... the choice is vast.
Each year, the department organises between four and six live auctions, hosted by Maître Paul-Antoine Vergeau. These auctions are a must for all collectors and numismatic enthusiasts. In fact, as a token of the confidence of the market and our customers, 99% of our lots are sold.
Don't hesitate to call on our specialists for an expert appraisal if, by any chance, while opening a cupboard you come across a few dusty treasures that could be given a new lease of life by auction.
