Since 2002, Christophe Goeury, a professional photographer, has organised and thought up the photography department to run themed sales.

The photography itself is photographed for inclusion in sales catalogues.

At each auction, our experts appraise works by Robert Frank, Edward Weston, Robert Doisneau, Diane Arbus, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Walker Evans, Kertész, Alfred Stieglitz, Gertrude Käsebier, Edward Steichen, Lewis Carroll, Felix Nadar, Hyppolite Fizeau, Edward S Curtis, Robert Capa, Annie Leibovitz, Steve Mc Curry and Cindy Sherman.

 

Photography is also about capturing rare moments. A portrait of Rimbaud, for example, is virtually impossible to find. We know of portraits of him by Nadar, Carjat and Verlaine, but photographs of the poet are extremely rare and always attract high bidding.
